Greg Kraemer with the Omaha SHP Chapter will be at convention to share the mission and help Nebraska-Iowa Kiwanians to build beds.
A project, that was started with the build of one bed for a single family developed into something a whole lot more. The wood left over from the first bunk, another idea was created. “Who else could benefit from this bunk”?
Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP) is a volunteer-driven nonprofit dedicated to building and delivering hand-made, fully furnished beds to children in need. SHP’s mission is to tackle childhood bedlessness, which are estimated to affect nearly 3% of the population.
Today, there are 327 SHP chapters in 47 states and, since its start in 2012, more than 250,000 beds have been delivered.
